SKYLAR ASTIN
Skylar Astin most recently starred to critical acclaim as Todd, the aimless in-house investigator at his helicopter mom’s law firm in CBS’ So Help Me Todd. Prior to ‘Todd,’ he starred in NBC’s award-winning series Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist alongside an all-star cast including Jane Levey, and Mary Steenburgen, and he was last seen in Disney’s Secret Society of Second Born Royals. Additionally, Skylar starred opposite Golden Globe-winner Rachel Bloom in the final season of The CW’s Crazy Ex-girlfriend, but it is Astin’s star turn as Jesse in the Pitch Perfect franchise that he is best known. Additionally, he starred as Isaiah Miller alongside Nick Nolte in the Golden Globe-nominated dark comedy Graves. He was recently reunited with Steve Coogan in Frank Coraci’s comedy Hot Air and can be seen in the feature film Ghosts of War, a psychological thriller from director Eric Bress. Skylar has created a number of diverse and notable roles in other films, including starring opposite Miles Teller in the comedy 21 And Over for Relativity, Taking Woodstock for director Ang Lee, the Sundance cult-hit Hamlet 2, as well as Flock of Dudes, Cavemen, and the beloved Disney animated film Wreck It Ralph. In television, he spent two years as the star of Bill Lawrence’s ½-hour multi-camera comedy Ground Floor and has appeared in shows such as Girls, Halt and Catch Fire, House, and Love Bites. A native New Yorker, Skylar’s first break came as Georg in the 2006 cultural phenomenon Spring Awakening. The show went on to win 8 Tony Awards. He portrayed the iconic role of Tony in Carnegie Hall’s performance of West Side Story and received rave reviews in Encore’s production of Kurt Vonnegut’s God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater. He was also seen in Pulitzer Prize nominee Theresa Rebeck’s play, What We’re Up Against. Skylar performed alongside Sutton Foster, Patina Miller and Cheyenne Jackson, among others, in Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods at the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, and he also portrayed Mark Cohen from the iconic Broadway musical Rent opposite Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens, Wayne Brady, and Nicole Scherzinger. Skylar currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
